The Special General Meeting passed a motion that we allocate up to a further 95K for South Bay and up to 10K for the Pier Ramp.
At South Bay
Current plan is that we finish off the left side looking down (which has some concrete to pour at the edges, one pole to put in, then the clip-on replaced).
This to be done as soon as can be arranged (with low tides, weather, and getting people together).
Completion of the work on the other side will wait until next autumn, as it will require closing the right side looking out for 2-3 months, pouring 3 slabs, then putting them in place. That will be done once traffic volumes reduce at the end of summer.
Also discussed at the meeting was the proposed Taiapure regulations. Of particular concern was the proposed restriction to 3 butterfish, when butterfish stocks are particularly high due to the set net ban.

Hi All,
I have been told today (7 Aug 2018) that the proposal for a Rahui over South Bay is to be withdrawn.
Ted
At the meeting held on 5th June a recently notified proposal to establish a rahui at Mudstone Bay was discussed.
There was no support for this proposal in this place.
This bay is the site of our club’s largest launching ramp, and is a safe area where many of those with smaller vessels fish.
It is also the area where most canoes launch.
An alternative site for a rahui in the middle bay on the end of the peninsula was discussed.
A further meeting of the committee will be held on Friday 8th of June at 9am to discuss a club submission.
A letter to all members is being drafted.
The map below shows the proposal.
Hi All,
A succession of things have not gone to plan.
We have the posts in, and the walkway extended.
Further work needs doing to the ramps – to extend them and fill the holes that have developed, and it looks like we might be very close to actually getting that done.
My apologies for not updating the website sooner.
Kaikoura Boating Club AGM is on Sunday 7th January – 1pm, at the Takahanga Bowling Club – Kilarney St.
